Hi, I need to replace some wires soldered to the volume and tone pots on my older F-2B. What gauge and type of wires are used? I'd like to restore it to original condition.

We use 24AWG stranded bunch-tinned wire with irradiated PVC insulation. It's OK to use another 24AWG hook-up wire with standard PVC insulation, but be cautious with the soldering, so you don't melt the insulation away (the irradiated PVC doesn't melt at soldering temperatures, but it's somewhat hard to find).

Thanks for your help Mica. I found a 100 foot roll of 24AWG 7x32 stranded type B 600 volt irradiated hook up wire at RS Electronics for $34.87.
