I have an orion guitar that I have upgraded to a filter and Q-switch. I also have sitting around a set of standard electronics from an europa bass. I'm wondering if it would be possible to use these in the Orion guitar or are they calibrated such that they are only suitable for a bass guitar? Jazzyvee |

Nah, should be fine to use in a guitar - we've made a few that way without complaint. |

If you go through with this, keep us posted. I think it's a great idea. |

I put an Alembic precision bass active electronics in a Charvel Surfcaster last month and it worked fine. It did not sound like the original single coils so I pulled it back out though. It was an interesting experimant. Dave |

I'm still contemplating. I had a go at marking out where all the controls would go but couldn't bring myself to drill the first hole in the guitar.....!!!! I think I will try wiring it up externally and leave the controls hanging out of the back first to see how it sounds then that will give me an idea if I really should go ahead and drill. Jazzyvee |

The thought of drilling holes in an Alembic does tend to give one pause. |
