While it looks a lot like a Europa, it is an Elan (as evidenced by the H in the serial number). Lots of figure happening in that top, very nice! (Message edited by adriaan on April 04, 2011) |

Am I reading this correctly....$4000.00 for a 4 string Elan? Does it come with a Golden Ticket to the Wonka factory? |

Not sure about the current exchange rate of he Swedish krone against the USD, but for instance the euro is currently just over 1.40 ... As far as asking prices go, that seems pretty normal for the European market (where one pays a hefty import tax on a new Alembic, and sales tax to boot). |

Itīs about half the price of a factory new Europe (which this Elan is most like). And itīs a custom-neck = very neat to play. it is also in perfect condition, not a blemish! as the second Iīm not doing a profit on this sale, I can assure you. |

Aaaaargh! Ultimate Elan! My custom Elan had the same "base" price as the Rogue, for Europa it's missing the Purpleheart neck laminates. The Rogue has no oval inlays, but longer scale to compensate pricewise. Doesn't matter anyway imho, it's a stunning Elan and that top is priceless Good luck with the sale! |

thanx, FC spoiler! it is a very very nice bass. Iīve owned two Epics before, one 4str and one 6str. Lately (after 40 yrs+ of playing) Iīve discovered that a narrownecked 5str Alembic would be the ultimate bass for me...due to small hands and a growing fondness of a fat B-string! |
