hey i have a 1970 jazz bass all original in excellent condition in three tone sunburst with roseweood board and original case also in excellent shape, all ashtray covers and thumb rest are in place, any thoughts on value? im looking to move on to something new possibly trade, but i want to get a better idea of the value. thanks guys |

The 2011 Vintage Guitar price guide says in excellant condition$3400 to $4400. |

The vintage guide is close. With the original case, I've seen nice '69-'70 SB Jazzes selling for $3000 lately. |

Hey I just got a guitar from you! if you want to get rid of it then I'd say get an Alembic! (it's not going to be easy to top an exploiter for 150 bucks) but I'd go for a Europa or a signature. think about getting rid of it though like a tattoo (you think about it for 6 months then if you still want to then do it) that bass will only go up in value (not that alembics won't they are my favorite) I'm just saying make sure of what you trade for. Unless it's "just a bass" to you but if it were me I'd be pretty picky (even though I am not a fender fan....yea I said it!) and have to think awful hard just because of what it is. it does look perfect, good luck, and I can't wait to see that 12 string! |
