Yes it is. I need to go light weight. That is why you see the Berg and the MarkBass stuff. The Berg is for Sale thought as is the MoMark SD800. I am staying w the SD1200 a very solid head. I may keep the Berg.

You didn't see me in the neck brace? I did opt for fusion artificial disks were too risky in my condition. My spine was compressed 90% by the time I went in for surgery. I was still walking and still playing albeit not very well. My Dr. was amazed that I was still "functioning". He stated that I should have been in a wheelchair and that I should have been taking pain medication but I was doing neither.

Price for local pickup $5650 unless I am driving to you then it's $5750. make me an offer I will not be offended. I would rather keep it here and on TalkBass.

Ouch- feeling your pain here. I had a spinal fusion (lumbar) about 18 months ago. Totally successful for me- am back to doing sprint/Olympic length triathlons and don't feel any worse for wear.

Good luck on your sale- love the maple top on that bass. More importantly, I hope your spine behaves from here on out.

Man, Lanis, that image is scary - more so since next week I go meet the surgeon to talk about the MRI that showed a cyst growing into my spinal canal (lumbar). Don't know yet what the options are, but I do know it hurts like a m-erf-er! Can't even play acoustic standing up - can't imagine what the 3XO must do to you. And no meds? Are you nuts?!?!? Couldn't do it. Sorry for your pain, and for the need to sell.

You are not alone by a wide margin Peter....
I wonder why we spinal mutants end up loving these Alembics?

Oh well, don't mix your Oxy with your Crown Royal.

I also feel your pain.
In 2003 I had 3 discs removed in my neck, and 4 vertabrae fused with a titanium plate. Now I set off metal detectors everywhere I go...

I wish I knew how to upload a MRI. Probably better though, don't want to scare everyone. 5 operationson my spine. 2 Cervical 2 disc removed and 3 vertabrae fused 2 rods 1 plate 9 screws.
3 Lumbar operations in 2 weeks. Dual rods across 7 vertabrae with crossmembers 4 3" screws and nuts and bolts for crossmembers. All Titanium.
But I don't set off metal detectors. Titanium is an inert metal, non magnetic.
I couldn't hold a bass standing up for 2 years.
So I feel your pain. It's a shame you have to sell the Bass. Mine are heavy but I refuse to part with them. Good luck with the surgery if you get it. With all these dual rods I'm like an Alembic bass, except mine are not adjustable. I have a preset back relief setting that is permanent.

$4500 on eBay but I am catering to the European market.
$4000 on TalkBass & here plus actual shipping I am going to charge a flat rate of $199. I will refund the difference. This is a "over sized" bass and the case is that much longer so conventional shipping is iffy at best.

Some knucklehead wanted to trade me a V63 Rickenbacker w a "parts" wound '60's pickup. Here is the kicker he had it listed for 3k on Talkbass but told me in private conversations that I would owe him money. My rhetorical question here is he stupid? I think so! Here is why. I see these V63's sitting on eBay @ $2700 and $2500 and no one is buying them. Most of what I have been observing have been on eBay for 6 - 8 months. If u review I had my Triple O listed for 4k and he had his V63 isted at 3k how then would I owe him money? What an jerk. Here is something funny about his thread now on Talkbass he "relisted" it for 4k saying he is now looking for an Alembic but doesn't want any wanking or silly triple o. He wants something tasteful w a versatile electronics package . LMAO! Guess what ur not getting my bass. This is after u tried to pry it away from me & tried to tell me I owed u money. So I told him his bass was worth $2500 and I didn't want it and ticked him off. Aw I am so sorry I hurt his feelings. I feel more stupid after negotiating w that clown.

Any way the bass has been traded to an outstanding Talkbass person who is very highly regarded. I just thought I had to share the other story w u. Some Rick owners want very high end basses and put there basses in the same league w the likes of an Alembic that he wouldn't know what to do with.

If ya think I am being insensible by writing this or ya don't let me know.

That clown thought you were stupid! (hee hee!!)
Kudos to ya! I had a Rick that I bought new in 1975...It's not in the same league as the Alembic, but Beauty is in the eye of the Beholder" In this case "worth"
