Certainly doesn't appear to be a SC bass, it looks more like a spoiler bass with some customisation.
(1) I would be surprised if the top really is cocobolo as coco bolo is a very expensive popular custom option for the top and back laminate for its looks as much as its sound and I would be surprised if anyone would pay that much money and then have it painted over in red.

2) The neck recipe does not look like maple and purpleheart.
(3) There is a volute at the back of the headstock which is usually found on set neck basses and not SC signature basses.
(4) Polyurethane veneers???
(4) Only one switch.

The seller clearly is unclear what they are selling, but it looks in good nick.

Buyer beware

This was an Adam Mendez commissioned bass.

Judging by the reserve, the previous owner didn't tell senior mgmt what he paid for it!

The wood card is obviously from a different bass... the seller admitted that she wasn't sure if it was the right one. Adam sure did have a bunch of basses built... often with unique wood recipes.

Maybe we could get Danno to commission a Coco Bolo Series II and have it painted black.

I've exchanged a few Email with the seller... she is trying to contact Adam to get the correct specs. I suggested she end the current auction. I don't think Ebay will allow you to Edit your ad... you can only add addendums (which she did, but it would be easy to overlook).

Wow, I just wished the seller good luck over on the FTC thread Mike lins, come here, and it's sold! And according to Mica in that thread, the neck is vermillion & koa.

And then this morning I notice that she said over there that she ended it to get a more accurate description, and over here that Mike talks about it the post before mine. Guess my mojo ain't what I thought; boy, is my face looking like that bass! (Gotta love those post-op meds!)
