I am wanting to buy a Guild Starfire 2 bass in good condition. I do not care what year it is from 60's, 70's or 90's re-issue will do. Must be a mahogany body. Finish does not matter as I am going to strip it down. Just no wood cracks etc.... |

I saw this one at Lightning Joe's Guitar Heaven Arroyo Grande, California (near San Luis Obispo, kind of between LA & San Francisco) - it's one of the reissues. |

Price will depend on what it is.. I will pay a fair market value for what year it is and what shape it is in. The one at Lightning Joes is nice and is a OK price but it is the maple body and I am looking for the mahogany body. Miguel let me know what you are selling and I will consider it. |

I bought a '96 Maple Guild Starfire Reissue with the Hammon Darkstars already installed for $1400 on EBay a couple of years ago. I play that bass through an SF-2 and I can dial in an awesome early 70s Phil tone when I need it. Those reissues are excellent builds IMHO. |

lesh_lash , Have you ever come across any 60's Starfires that have an Alembic bridge and tailpiece? o better yet ___ Alembic bridge and tailpiece and Alembic pickups ? About 36 years ago I had both such projects . I still own one of them. (however not available for purchase). Pics of both can be found on this site. There are a few of us here that have some interesting ones with various modifications. Happy Starfiring ! |

That is why I am trying to get a Starfire.... I have been talking to Susan and seriously considering Alembic working one over for me. |
