Man, that's a bummer...I've been following this club for years now, and the ole "Otis gets his hands on a six-string SII" saga is one of my favorites. No!!! At least you'll have no trouble finding it a good home. I remember seeing several posts just this year from people falling all over themselves trying to buy a S2 sixer. | ||

The bass has flamed American walnut top and back, mahogany core with maple pinstripe laminates, maple and purpleheart neck. The fingerboard is the classic taper. Ebony board, obviously. The weight is in the neighborhood of 14 pounds. This bass is IT. It plays like hot buttered Jesus and the sound is so juicy and tight and alive...a really special instrument. If I was still playing electric bass I'd be making serious moves to get it back. Here are a few photos taken before Frank talked me out of it...j/k.   | ||

Thanks, Mica, I really appreciate it. Yes, Garth and I have spoken. We're still trying to come to an agreement. In the meantime, several other members from the Club have expressed interest, and I expect more interest before this whole thing comes to a close. As Shawn C. put it just before I purchased the bass from him, "These things are rarer than hen's teeth." Series II's are hard to find used, let alone a S2 Six, so I'm quite confident I'll find a buyer and we'll both walk away happy. Frank | ||
