Hey, All,

Due to unfortunate financial circumstances, I must sell my most prized material possession- my Series II Six String Bass.

It's a 1995 with side LED's and an 11 piece body.

Please email me if interested.

Thanks,

Frank

Here's the link to pics from when I first acquired the bass:

Man, that's a bummer...I've been following this club for years now, and the ole "Otis gets his hands on a six-string SII" saga is one of my favorites. Your enthusiasm for the initial acquisition was awesome. Cheers and here's to you finding a great buyer for a great bass! (If it was a four string, I'd be all over it, btw)

No!!! At least you'll have no trouble finding it a good home. I remember seeing several posts just this year from people falling all over themselves trying to buy a S2 sixer.

Thanks, Will!

Shawn, I know, right?!?! Huge bummer, but if I'm meant to get another S2 6, it'll happen... Eventually... When I land on my feet again.

What I need is a wealthy patron of the arts to commission me to write them some music, lol;)

Sigh.

The Holy Grail: a six-string series bass! (sigh) Hoping to own one of these before I die and, no, this is not the year. :-(

Good luck with the sale, Otis!

The bass has flamed American walnut top and back, mahogany core with maple pinstripe laminates, maple and purpleheart neck. The fingerboard is the classic taper. Ebony board, obviously. The weight is in the neighborhood of 14 pounds.

This bass is IT. It plays like hot buttered Jesus and the sound is so juicy and tight and alive...a really special instrument. If I was still playing electric bass I'd be making serious moves to get it back. Here are a few photos taken before Frank talked me out of it...j/k.

Shawn, thanks for that;) I believe it's Comfort Taper, though I wouldn't swear to it... FYI everyone, I'm going to find the build record and post it when I get in front of my computer a bit later.

Thanks for all the comments!

Shawn, thanks again- I appreciate it. You're helping make this a bit less painful.

Tim, thanks for the comment, I hope you're able to acquire a Series Six someday!

Sorry that you might have to part with this bass, Frank. I know how much it means to you. Wasn't Garth looking for something similar recently?

Thanks, Mica, I really appreciate it. Yes, Garth and I have spoken. We're still trying to come to an agreement. In the meantime, several other members from the Club have expressed interest, and I expect more interest before this whole thing comes to a close. As Shawn C. put it just before I purchased the bass from him, "These things are rarer than hen's teeth."

Series II's are hard to find used, let alone a S2 Six, so I'm quite confident I'll find a buyer and we'll both walk away happy.

Hey, All,

I think I'm going to give this about another week, then I'm going to put this beauty up on eBay.

Thanks All;)

Is the bass still available and what are you asking for it? I already have an S2 five and always liked the look of your bass. Best, Don

Yes, Don, the S2 Six is still available, but I'm not sure for how long. I have a pretty serious buyer who is ready to move on it. I've sent you an email.
