Just connect your "7pin" cable in and plug the power supply to your amp and start playing.

Hi everyone.

Anyone know if these can be converted internally to run on 240v for European power - or would you have to use a separate transformer?

Thanks very much

James,

Yes you will need to install a new transformer for 240V which is available from Alembic.

I did the same "make it compatible for Australia upgrade" to mine a few years ago and it has been working perfectly since.

I could not tell you the price of the transformer though.

Jix,

Slawie is right, but you can also just buy an adapter with a transformer built into it that plugs between the blue box and the wall socket. I've been using these for years with the 110V blue boxes without any issues so far (no need to modify the blue box at all). The current draw of these boxes is not particularly high so it seems to work fine.

something like this;

Most electronic or good travel stores will be able to supply one for you.

Cheers,

Garth

Hi All.

Thanks so much, as always, for all the advice.

I've had an external transformer for a while, for another piece of US powered kit. It does weigh a bit, though, so was thinking if I could mod the little blue box easily enough then that would save me having to carry the extra weight around if I wasn't taking my full rig.

I've just seen this post in the FAQ section as it happens - http://alembic.com/club/messages/16271/21589.html?1129557453

Nice to have a choice (I'll probably leave it as it was originally built and use the external transformer).

Have gone ahead and bought the little blue box off eBay. :-)

Thanks again everyone - always makes me proud to be an Alembic owner when I read the forum.

Cheers
James
