Item 220864312126. Of course this listing got my attention. I'm not new to ebay, but this seller has not only this bass, but several outstanding instruments for sale, lots of feedback at 99.9%. What's fishy to me is that you have to contact them by email and their BIN price for almost anything worthwhile is $1,300. Has anyone dealt with them? Are they dodging ebay's usurous fees? Is this some sort of scam? |

100% Scam The listings will be gone by the end of the day, but the scammer will have snared a couple hundred emails by then and maybe one sucker that will send him the money. (Message edited by longhorncat on September 26, 2011) |

I'll second the 100% scam rating. From what I remember the same pics have been previously used in what appeared to be legit sale of a used instrument. Interesting how an instrument photographed in someone's home can be described as "new." Also interesting that ebay, after warning buyers to never to work outside of ebay actually puts this stuff up even if only for a short period of time. Sad to say that at this point, unless it's being sold by a club member or I can actually inspect the instrument in-person, I just assume that the chances of a scam are at or above 50%. |

This isn't the first time this bass (or a picture of it) has been on eBay directly related to a scam. Here's the link: Alembic Series II bass guitar PRISTINE AND STUNNING |

Thank you all for your posts; I feel somewhat vindicated about my radar going off, but also wonder how this vendor manages to persist on ebay. Also, I'll have to deal with my disappointment about not being able to get a beautiful Alembic 34" 5-string for $1300! |

"wonder how this vendor manages to persist on eBay" A hijacked account is used to list the scam auctions. |

Thank you all. Guess I won't take advantage of that killer deal on a sweet Alembic 34" five-string ... or the Parker they have listed. Oh, well! |
