Hi Guy's,could you please help ?. Im thinking of selling my Acoustic corporation rig,can enbody give me an idea what she's worth ?. The head is 9/10 condition + 308 with 4- 15'S is a monster + original footswitch which is very rare !!!!!!! these beast's have monster tones, and the power to back it. I don't wonder the likes of John Paul Jones- Jaco Pastorious- Stanley Clarke used them. So what do you think id get for such a rare beast ? |

Don't know what it's worth, but I suspect quite a lot. Those amps were bone-eating monsters with enough power to blow down walls. One seldom sees that pair in that kind of condition any more. |

These old rigs are mainly worth something to collectors, as most players are just not willing to lug such huge stuff around these days. Here is a link to an Acoustic 320 head and 408 bottom to look at. http://www.talkbass.com/forum/f127/acoustic-320-head-408-cab-4-x-15-a-310693/ I would not think this set would be as collectable as a 360 set or 370 set (I might actually go for a pristine 360 preamp and bottom, to just to sit and look at it, but I have turned down chances before, as old caps and huge cabinets of single 3" voice coiled Cerwin Vega speakers do not really get me that excited any more). I did see a set of the 320/408's being sold recently for $700, but who knows if it sold or not, and England has its own market prices for American vintage equipment, which I do not keep up on. |

Many years ago I picked up an Acoustic 360 preamp top . The power amp was located in the speaker bottom on those units. I connected the Acoustic 360 preamp to a Crown DC300 power amp and 2 Alembic A15's with JBL K140's and I was not really that impressed by what I heard from the 360 preamp at that time. I liked the preamp out from my Dual Showman better back then.I traded the 360 shortly there after for some other gear. Jaco used those 360's but I think Jaco would be awesome through almost anything. |
