Hello all, I need to sell my Alembic Classico. Absolute headturner and sounds/plays like butter, but I cannot afford to keep her. In awesome shape. I have a soft case so you would need to pick it up in Colorado. Always kept in humidity/temp controlled space.

That looks like melted butter - gorgeous.

Andy - you might contact Bass Central in Florida. The might be willing to put it on consignment for you. They have good luck selling unusual pieces like this. Of course - you'd have to get it there.... They have more advertising clout than a lot of other bass dealers, and they move a ton of Alembics.

eBay is another option, but you'll take a huge hit there. Same thing with Craigslist.

How much is it Graeme? Is it as easy to play compared to a trad. double bass as an alembic electric is compared to 'cheap' basses? Sincerely, Mark

Perhaps Alembic has a hard case to sell, I would like to know how much as well. With a hard case, shipping options may open up.

Mark - it's Alan's classico not mine (although I sincerely wish it WAS mine). The price may be reasonable but like me, you'd need to cross the Atlantic to collect :-(

Hi, all sorry for not posting back sooner. I am asking 7k US for her. Regarding cases, there is a case manufacturer here in Denver who could surely custom build something if you'd like to go that route.

I know of no hard cases that Alembic sells with these. I have a soft case that comes with it which if suitable for car and light duty plane travel. It feels very similar to, well, more precise than, any acoustic bass I've played. I wish I did not have to transfer caretaking responsibilities.

It's nice to get attention as the bass player :-)
