From what I can tell the Pursuader has P/Jazz sounding pickups installed. I have a P-Bass now but looking for the Alembic sound, to which I so want to move up to. Any thoughts on this Spoiler little brother? http://www.ebay.com/itm/1985-Alembic-Pursuader-/220906608763?pt=Guitar&hash=item336f0f587b |

I can assure you, Peter, the P-J shaped Alembic p/ups will not sound like your Fender! As to other aspects, as you noticed the Persuader shares the Spoiler body, which is my personal favorite - but this one has a proper crown headstock instead of a cone; if I had any disposable income right now, I would be bidding. I'd say go for it, and good luck. If you win the auction, report back (with lots of pictures). Peter |

I'll second that. I've got a Spoiler and I love it. the Persuader (I had one of those too) has a little different electronics but still pretty cool. If you have the dollars go for it, but these things can get pricey. The crown headstock rules btw. |

In contact with the seller asking for the serial # which he came back with 35p3559. I ask back if it was 85P3559 as per usual Alembic SN#'s. He double checks and responds 35P3559. SN# located in the cavity cover? Any ideas I do have a bid on it? Thanks for any insight. |

Sometimes the serial stamps don't take completely, I bet the first three is an eight that was stamped shallow on one side. [ I had a '78 bass, was hoping it was a '73 .;) ] |
