A very interesting version of a "Persuader" bass on DC area craiglist. Crown headstock, much larger body than usual, and what appear to be non-standard Persuader PUs. Seller claims it's got Persuader electronics. http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/mld/msg/2779726428.html |

This is where it happens that you see the various Alembic models with an 'other-than-expected', custom order body. The electronic circuit (AXYx2, vol/vol/tone, and probably one preamp for both pickups) and the wood recipe (2-piece wings, maple-only neckthru) say 'Persuader', but these features are rendered in a Series body. My BigRedBass is a Spoiler in a Series body. We've all seen 'Exploiter' Spoilers, or Series electronics in other than Series bodies. Hey, it ain't called 'Beyond Custom' for nothing ! J o e y |

Hypothetically thinking; If I were to pick it up I would "someday "opt for Anniversary electronics upgrade with a master volume and put a 5 pin on it as well . If I were local I would check it out too . Go for it folks.____________ |

Per owner SN is 90P 6072, and controls are: volume, volume, filter, - my old 90 Elan was a 60xx serial number...seems to jive. |

I checked this out last eve - it is in very good condition, it does have a couple minor dings in the finish. Neck VG / fretboard in VG condition. Plays well. Could use cleaning, but generally very good. WOOD: The pics don't do justice, you can barely see the different coloration at widest part of the wings. Body is mahogany. HW: VVF controls, no noise or scratchiness. Bridge sustain block included. Brass could use cleaning. Truss rod cover plate has slight corrosion at edge approx 2cm long, and maybe 2mm at widest part near pickup. Neck pickup is recessed probably further than should be. No straplocks - when worn it hangs forward. Case original, latches work. (Owner ordered new case, but got one for a K-style body and this bass does not fit). |
