I remember Sam Ash in White Plains, NY had a solid brass Gibson Les Paul in the window. Lates 70s or early 80s.

I dunno - the close-ups sure look like paint chipped & worn through to wood to me.

Just looks like tarnishing to me. 76 lbs, only an alembic player could handle that! LOL!

76 POUNDS ???!?!?!?!?!?!__ LOL______Almost like an 80 pound sack of concrete! A little thin player needs counter weight boots to keep from falling forward while playing it standing up and when sitting down it might make bruises on your body !! LOL !!!!

I wonder if there is a matching bass anywhere around.

I'm sure there is video of a solid marble or granite guitar or bass on on youtube somewhere.

Yep here it is

BRASS & HEAVY METAL ! ( now I am REALLY off the hook!)
Imagine an All Brass Ensemble playing Heavy Metal Hits!
( this might be inspiration for a future multi-track recording project)

Wolf,

You should check out Bonerama. They've got a guitar player, but pretty much all other parts are covered by Brass Players. Here they are playing "The Wizard," by Black Sabbath: http://alembic.com/club/messages/395/120203.html?1325780940

Bonerama is awesome. I have seen them 4-5 times. Their sousa player really knows his stuff. He's also a bassist so his sousa fills are spot on. They also play Whipping Post and Frankenstein. Mind = blown.

Get out the Brasso and have a shine at it! Jeez, you'd think they would at least clean it up a little for that price.
