Hey Guys, If anyone is interested in buying an Acme Low B4 cab, I'm selling one on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=10171&item=3744849719&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW She's about a year old and in excellent (like new) condition. Was always covered whenever taken out. Mikey/ |

Hey Brother Mikey, what happened? I remember you buying this thing. I even remember you trying the Glockenklangs in NY. Changed plans and moods?? BTW how is your son and his bass-playing?? Paul the bad one |

Hey Brother Paul, You're right...I did try the Glockenlangs and loved the sound...but the only showstopper was that on this side of the pond the price of the Glockenlangs was more than twice the amount of any of the other leading domestic cabs. While I still love the sound of the Acme B4, I'm still in an eternal quest for the perfect sound. I'm currently using Dr. Bass Cabs (2x12 and a 2x10) that I'm very happy with. Not as deep as the Acme, but sweet sounding and very punchy and much lounder and projects well...which is what I need for these loud bands I'm playing with. I am still holding on to one of my 2x10 B2 Acme cabs though. My son is doing great..thanks for asking. He's been studying a Victor Wooten DVD from Bass Day '98 and various newer CD's for the past year...literally for hours and hours daily, and he can play all that stuff perfectly now. Now he's incorporating all those different techniques into his playing. I actually make a point to sit down with him and have him show me some of the stuff he's doing...got the old man learning some new tricks (just when I thought I was done). Doing regular session work, gigging and working the 'ol 9 to 5, I just wasn't finding the time to devote to practice anymore...but he got me re-motivated...so it's definitely a good thing. Mikey/ |
