Thanks for being patient everyone.

Details on the bass can be found in the thread below. Feel free to email me with any other questions you may have but I think most everything is covered in the other thread.

--- DETAILS OF THE SALE ---

- I will take offers from now (Sunday, September 5th) through Friday, September 10th.

EDIT: Some people have contacted me about the possibility of trading their bass + cash for my bass. I'm open to these types of offers as well since the whole thing that started all this is my desire to have a bass that fits me better. If you're one of these folks then please include pics/info or a link to the info on your bass to me in an email. Alembic only please ;)

- I will send a confirmation "I got your offer" email back to each person so that they know I've seen their offer and that their email got through.

- I will NOT contact anyone who has put in an offer with a "well I've got this other person that's offered this much and I wanted to see if you wanted to up your offer" email. It's really uncool and I don't want anyone feeling less than 100% comfortable. The offer that you send me should be your best offer that you feel is fair and reasonable.

EDIT: This also goes for anyone wanting to include their Alembic as part of a trade for mine. Include all info about your bass and the exact terms of the sale/trade that you feel comfortable with. State your terms exactly; this is not a detail to be worked out "later".

- I'll look at the offers I have gotten and if I've received one that I feel comfortable with then I'll announce the sale of the bass probably early/late Friday evening.

- Payment in full is required prior to shipment. You can make a payment to my paypal account (verified shipping address only), send me a bank cashiers check, send me a personal check (I'll ship after the check totally clears the bank), or roll up some money in an old sock and send it to me.

- The (bass/case/DS-5/DS-5 instrument cable) will be shipped either FedEx or UPS, your choice. The shipment will be insured for the purchase price of the instrument. The tracking number will be provided to you so that you can camp the tracking info web page and obsessively watch the basses journey tword your home.

- Anyone who is interested in putting in an offer is welcome to do so at jfnance@dechex.com

Interesting! This will require some thought. The first question that comes to mind: is it ok if the old sock has a hole where the big toe goes?

Just as long as the hole where the big toe goes isn't large enough for for a roll of bills to fall though.

(NOTE: if the old sock method of payment is used then there will be a 1.05% "stinky" surcharge)

Well then I've got an old sock that qualifies; now I just have to figure out what to put in it.

I love your bass, but, being financially disabled by my last Alembic purchase...Alas.

However, I want to wish you best of luck with your auction. I respect the rules you've articulated and I hope others do, too. Best luck to you and some lucky winner out there!

Can I just mention here that "Stinky Surcharge" was the name of my band in high school?

Brother MIke, you have to admi that the names of your band were all quite "original".
Mmmm ...we should open a thread on this.
"Funny band names" (and the history behind).

Paul the bad one
