Saw this ad on EBay:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/1985-Alembic-Distillate-8-String-Bass-Guitar-/160753926647?pt=Guitar&hash=item256dae41f7

I don't know if it's a good price or not.

It's been sitting out there for months. I believe the seller originally had it listed for $5500, so it's come down somewhat.

Here's an earlier thread on it - much more reasonable price now! If I had the money I'd be tempted, but alas... Actually, I've been thinking about what basses I could sell to afford it, but haven't got past the thinking stage.

Yes - the price now is rather reasonable.
To me the condition of the case says that it hasn't been out much (read = slightly used condition). Indicating that the seller is very honest.

Worth making an offer on.
I'm buying a lottery ticket tomorrow! :-D

I saw the seller's latest listing (flamed Koa SII), and wondered if this one ever sold... Same make, same price, waaayyy different features..... Nice to see a more realistic price~ very tempting to pull the trigger and put my current 8 on the block!

Part of me wonders if this is the guy that used to have Godzilla figures in his auctions?

I don't know if it's the same guy, but I loved his auctions, too!

Everybody knows you can't play bass with three claws on each paw, what were they thinking?

Maybe they are double-bass players looking to get into electric? I'm sure they have monster chops!

The seller's name is Chris Harris and he seemed to be a nice guy.
He bought a Mark King from me last year.
Said it was for his brother, but I saw it sell on eBay two weeks later for $1500 more that I was asking.

Well maybe his "brother" didn't dig it. Though it would make me question the usage of the term "nice" to describe someone after that, especially with a $1500 motive. I think I'd be more apt to use terms like "opportunistic" or more commonly from my vernacular at least a slight "douche bag". But that's just me.

Looks like it sold for around $3500...
