Do anyone know of a 1979 Alembic Series II guitar or copy of it for sale ? or if there is a company like Fenandes that copied that model to the tee? I've only seen a Jerry Garcia Chinese copy of the Alembic so far.

Hi Khalifa, welcome to the board. In my view, no one has ever made a copy of an Alembic "to the tee". Fernandes did make some copies a few decades ago; but I think that most folks who owned both would say that, especially with regard to the sound, they didn't measure up to an actual Alembic.

Without ALEMBIC's electronics and woodwork, a copy would just be like one of those clapped-out Jaguars with a Chevy small block installed. Beats walking I suppose, but that's about it . . .

I recently bought a pritty nice copy of a old german luthier named "hoyer", itīs a series I like looking bass.
The electronics are different, itīs active but not stereo and without the power supply. Instead the 5-pin cable there is a XLR-jack. These instrument were made very professionell, good looking and sounding,
iīll send a picture soon

Hey, Peter, I'm struck by the placement of the strap buttons; am I correct in assuming the bass balances about 1:30?
