Hi folks, i´m selling a very nice copy of the series I model made by the wellknown german luthier "Hoyer" in the early 80th´s. This bass has 24 Frets,4-string,neckthru construction.3D-Bridge from Schaller,M4S Tuners from Schaller. Has active Electronic on board, wich can be switched off,so it works passive. No idea what wood was used.
The whole style is Alembic Series I alike.
The bass is nearly in brandnew condition.
The sound is very flexible, full of bottom and high crisp and also with a good balance of midrange. Played without amplification, the good and massive resonaces of the body demonstrates that there must be a thought through and very special selection of wood and handcraft.
Active OBL-humbucker with 2 jacks: regular and a XLR, no power supply! it goes with a batterie. This bass is not a puppy, this one is a perfect tool for a professional player.
This company has closed for a long time. There is still HOYER on the market, but it is only the name. Hoyer was one of the oldest luthiers from Germany. In the early 80ths were suddenly two Hoyers and shortly thereafter no Hoyer until the Hoyer Name came back. The first Hoyer episode was a story of handmade customshop guitars made in Germany. The actual one has not the sense and passion of the old Hoyer. Be aware not to buy the wrong product with the same name.
Price: 1000 €. If somebody from US is interested,
the bass can be picked up in NYC or LA, but this may take some time, a friend of mine (fellow musician) living in NYC comes frequently for gigs to germany
( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g2vgh6lxoH8&feature=relmfu )can bring it over to US and also to LA. The video shows him with me on a gig near Stuttgart but not with this bass..it´s my custom made alembic. The bass is located in Berlin.
Feel free to contact me.ho
