For Sale: Alembic Essence 5 String Bass

I got this as a first bass and realized that 5 strings were a little more than an newbie like me could handle. Bass is in AMAZING shape for its age. Just one tiny ding and one scuff on the headstock. It has a few tiny indentations in the finish on the body. None through the finish! Made in ’93, this bass was obviously kept in a case the vast majority of its life.

The action is great. Super playability. You just can’t beat the sound of Alembic electronics. I just strung it up with a brand new $50 set of Thomastik Infield Roundwounds. It comes in the original Alembic Hard sided Soft Gig case.

Price is $1050 plus the actual cost of UPS Insured shipping. I pack in sturdy shipping box with plenty of packing material. I have many references from forum gear purchases. Feel free to email me for as many references as you want. Anyone local to the KC area is welcome to come pick it up.

You can check my ebay feedback under: srt4444

I take paypal, cashiers check or money order. Lower 48 US buyers only please. Please email me with any questions at

Thanks!

Looks like a good deal, but around here people want more info! Can you provide things like serial numbers and/or scale length so that the locals can get all the info they desire about the construction of the instrument?

Nice bass at a decent price. It hasn't sold yet? It should sell easily at that price, I would think.

BTW - Hi Shawn and welcome! Good luck on your sale. I hope you find a good bass to suit your needs. This is a pretty good place to learn stuff and ask questions, too.

I've been lurking for awhile, it is a great site!

Any member from the Alembic forum that emails me can get it for $1000 with free shipping. A little payback for all of the info I have picked up here :-)

Hey Shawn. That seems really generous. Have you put this on eBay? I think you would get a bit more than that for it, if you do. More like in the $1,400 to $1,800 range - eBay can be erratic at times. Christmas is coming, and I would think this would sell nicely soon.

It's usually so much easier to deal with forum members. Ebay can be such a pain. I'm a mod over on the Les Paul Forum and we've had lots of good luck with our classifieds section. If it doesnt sell in the next week or so I'll probably throw it up on ebay though.
