I can almost excuse that one since it was an auction house I believe. There is a 1989 Elan with Europa electronics currently on ebay about which the seller states, "This bass has...5 layers of quilted maple and an ebony neck." The neck has no ebony in it based on the single pic provided and appears to be maple. He can only be referring to the fingerboard. I'm not sure about the 5 layers of quilted maple, but that sure seems like a lot to me. |

Brian; in the wintertime I have five layers of quilts on my bed; but they're not maple. |
