I'm pretty sure I did. I remember meeting a lot of people that day. It's a beautiful bass and I'm very interested in how it sounds. Alas, I'm waiting on my brown bass, so even if I wanted to buy it, I couldn't right now. :-(!

A great Top, and the fine "piping" veneers really emphasize the top! WOW!

Very interested bass !

1: I had not seen "Bookmatch to Center" at that time (arround 80').
2: The horns and cutaway are not typical SSB, just like old small body (arround the serial No 25 to 40's).
3: The body edge radius is square like than others, just like as my Hyak.
4: 3 layered accent laminate is very rare at that time.

How about the serial number ?
Maybe it is on the fingerboard end.

Of course the bass is very nice one.
I think it is one of custom grade instruments.

:-)

I bought it - for a lot more than he was originally asking.
It only seemed fair to pay closer to market price.

Longhorncat - That's good news! I too was going to offer more than what he was asking. But I didn't want to step on any toes here.

If you decide you don't like it, we can work something out. Oh, and don't move the strap button!

Congratulations Bill !

The seller also posted it locally in my neck of the woods on Craigslist;

I was amazed when I saw it and was extremely tempted to drive a just a few miles to buy it. But I was also resisting because I am waiting for my lined fretless Series I/II to show up for grabs. Thanks for buying it. It looks like an awesome Bass

Thank you. I've had this empty feeling since I sold my Distillate last December.
I did a little dance when we finalized the deal on this bass.

"It only seemed fair to pay closer to market price."

That's why I like being a member of this club.

Congratulations Bill. I, like apparently many others here, was tempted by this one.
