Hi everyone - I'm looking to sell my Alembic 1974 Series #1 Bass. Here's the rundown - Fretless (All Original! NOT a fretless coversion!). 34" Scale. Interesting custom hardware, control cover plates etc. (Back plate has an Eagle in space w/ a ruby jewel for the eagle's eye!). Smaller backplate incoperates a 1910 US dime. Rick Turner told me that all the metal work on this (except the Schallar tuning keys) was custom done by someone named "Jack The Jeweler". Perhaps someone
here knows more about that? This bass is really interesting, super clean and (most importantly) plays great. W/PWR Supply and OHSC. If it's a
Fretless Alembic you want, this is it. Email for more info. Asking $4,500. gldprod@earthlink.net Thanks!

Good grief! What a cool bass! I like that a bunch. What is going on with the upper strap button? Not that I am going to purchase another bass, but I am curious.

I really like the detail of the bridge and sustain block.

The club site was extremely slow last night, so by the time I uploaded these pictures, I just went and crashed. This is a really great bass, thumb support and all. I would really like to see a picture of the front strap button 'arrangement.' The bass looks very well cared for and I am sure someone will be very happy with it. It seems all the major basses being sold in the last six months have been fretless. $4,500 seems a reasonable price for this gem. Lee, would you please post the serial number. Thanks for the pictures. This is a treat!

Looks like the 'front' strap button is not on a horn but where the neck meets the body (picture #4).

Drool.

Hi all - To answer questions: Serial # is 74/124.
We're talking low low serial number... The strap button is not on the "horn". You'll find it on the
back of the bass in the "Heel" area" See Pic #4. The Button in on a small metal plate (The plate is
brass even though it looks kinda silver in that picture). Yes, that's original and looks consistant with all other metal work on the very cool bass. It's still for sale... Any takers? Step right up!
