http://www.ebay.com/itm/Custom-Modulus-12-String-Guitar-Graphite-Neck-Through-Alembic-Scorpion-Shape-/290749368402?pt=Guitar&hash=item43b2034852 Hmmm...knobs, bodyshape, tailpiece, if this was a few years older and didn't say Modulus on it I would swear this was an Alembic. Still very nice though. |

I remember this coming up for sale a while ago. The original seller was asking for much less. I think closer to 2500 if I remember correctly. I remember because I was interested in buying it. I think its changed hands since. |

Geoff Gould developed his graphite neck design in the mid-1970s in conjunction with Alembic. The test case was a Stanley Clarke short-scale model. They made one identical to Stanley's except graphite neck instead of wood. He tested it at a Return to Forever soundcheck and was impressed. They made less than 50 of those for Jon Entwistle, John McVie, and others -- I'm very lucky to have one. then Geoff founded Modulus Guitars. The 12-string guitar on ebay must be one of his earliest. Definitely looks like a standard body Series. |

It will be a long time before I can ever justify buying a 12 string electric. It would be sweet to cover some Byrds tunes and Beatles, but I don't know what else I would use it for. |

IIRC, the original seller had this custom built in either '87 or '88... |
