I've lost count of the number of occasions this bass has come up for sale on Ebay. I'm not a fan of that large body shape but it looks in great nick. I wonder why it keeps coming up for sale?
Maybe it's too expensive and never gets sold or it gets sold and the buyer for some reason wants to off load it. Does it belong to a forum member?

This one has been up almost constantly for that period. From what I remember from earlier listings its the same seller. The reason I think this is the case is that the last time it was up I missed the part that this was a personal listing and checked out the guys other items for sale on ebay. I remember being surprised that there were no other instruments and that all of the other merchandise was comic related.

The bass is 10-years old and approximately 14 grand is a lot to spend on an instrument of that age.

My other hypothesis (this one's based on personal experience) is that he wanted to purchase something else (possibly another Alembic custom build) and the wife stated that in order to do that he'd have to sell one of his basses. Since he really didn't want to lose this bass he's put it up for a very hefty price hoping no one will bite.
