Pics are in this thread: http://alembic.com/club/messages/411/77495.html?1297967315 Due to Xander bills starting to come in and now lack of a job while I get him started in the first year of his life and defer the bar exam, I'm offering this for sale or trade. It has a number of wonderful features, including laser LEDs on the front (inlaid into some really spectacular abalone inlays. My bandmates and fans are going to miss those) and red LEDs up the side of the neck. Continuous wood backplates are also a wonderful feature. The electronics are set up with a vol/blend arrangement. Ron went the extra mile tuning the electronics and it shows. Dead quiet and super dynamic. It plays superbly. It is the most in tune electric bass I've ever played. It is a serious jewel of an instrument in near perfect shape. I'll be taking more shots in the coming days. The tone has the usual versatility of a Series instrument and the wood combinations allows for a very deep sound. It's a shorty, but it's deep and punchy as hell. If I were playing more jazz fusion, I'd be keeping it. Comes with a rack power supply, cable, G&G hardshell case and there is also a custom Janal flightcase that is simply the very best possible case to fly with. It's under 50lbs with the bass and is absolutely indestructible (and it's purple on the inside!). As far as trades go, I'd be interested in a Series I or II medium scale instrument, preferably with an omega cut and dark wood, like walnut or cocobolo. 5 string might be nice. I'm not giving this away. It's heart wrenching enough as it is to let it go, so I'd rather keep it than sell it cheap. The custom quote generator is well over $20k. Anyway, if you are interested, get in touch through my profile. |

Edwin only played the Starfire the night I saw him, so I didn't get to hear this one; I did get to finger a few quick unplugged notes, and it plays like a wet dream! And, as we so often say around here, the pictures don't even come close to the beauty of the acuallity! Good luck, Edwin; wish you didn't have to, but if you do, hope it's quick & high-priced - and really wish the funds were mine! Peter |

Dangerous waving short scale series basses in coco bolo in front of me when they are for sale especially when you are fully aware of my weakness...... :-) All the best with the sale. Jazzyvee |

Noooooooooooooooo! I think you know how much I would like to get my hands on this. I have become quite fond of the short scale Alembic. Times are tough. Too bad, Edwin. I am glad Xander is doing well. My sincere sad feelings for you to get rid of such a stellar instrument. I am sending good (((VIBES))) to you and family. Nick |

Best of luck with the sale. It's a beautiful bass that I'd buy in a minute if I hadn't just started a build. I'm sure it will go quickly. I know it's always hard to lose an instrument, especially one of this caliber, but think of it this way...though an additional Alembic would add a bit of enrichment to your life, you will consider its loss through a sale absolutely inconsequential as you watch Xander take his first steps, say his first word, and really stick that first drum solo. |

Edwin, Rather than selling the bass, maybe you could try one of those 'crowdfunding' things;promise a cd of your music and a personally pooped diaper from Xander for each donation! Hell, lots of less deserving folks have gotten what they needed this way, why not you? Tony |

Although we whinge & whine about the government in the UK I thank the stars for Aneurin Bevan who helped create our National Health Service. It's a shame you have to sell such a beautiful bass but you have far more important responsibilties now. You never know..you may get it back at some point in the future..Good luck with your sale |
