After much debate, I've decided to sell the guitar that started my relationship with Alembic. This beautiful 2001 Orion has seen one day of playing since the Little Bear arrived. I imagine that quickly will go to zero after the new custom I'm about to start is completed. I don't mind the other guitars collecting dust, but it seems a shame not to play this. Previously owned guitars don't come up often and I figured it would be a great opportunity for anyone interested.
I am not the original owner. My understanding is that it was bought by a collector and never really played. The guitar looks as if it came home from Santa Rosa yesterday. It has been kept in a climate controlled room and has never left the house. Never been gigged or even touched by anyone but myself since winding up in my possession.
To date, it's the only burl rosewood Orion guitar that Alembic has ever made. There is a single purpleheart accent laminate. The rest is standard. The color is a much deeper brown than the pictures suggest.
If anyone is interested, or you know someone who may be interested, please e-mail me. I will not spearhead another debate on the Club as to an instrument's value. I only know what it is worth to me, what I paid and what it would cost to replace. I will not be offering this on eBay. If it doesn't sell here, it stays with me.
