Hi All,

It's with mixed feelings that I'm posting this bass for sale. I never thought I would let it go since we've been through so much together! I've owned this one for about 10 years and while it was not my first bass, I consider this the one on which I really learned to play. I've made the switch to fretless so this bass has been shamefully sealed up in the closet for a couple years now.

Serial number 82D2078, 32" medium scale, walnut top, mahogany body, maple/purpleheart neck. I tested it this morning and found that the pickup selector, bass/treble switches, q-switch and volume/tone knobs are all functional. Strap has been screwed on Stanley-style.

This is a player's bass, not a collector's showpiece. Plenty of finish imperfections, buckle rash, et cetera. If you want one that's all pretty and shiny, keep looking!

As you can see from the pics, it has had significant damage to the jack area - looks to me like someone stepped on the cable while it was plugged in, ripping the jack out of the body. A brass plate has been fitted over the original jack area with LED fitted into the plate, and a shoddy job was done epoxying the jack into its new home on the lower bout. The jack connection is not perfect, it will crackle and buzz if the position of the cable is off. I would think any competent repair person could address the connection issue pretty easily. I bought it this way around 2002-2003 and it was never enough of a problem for me to address.

It needs a good cleaning, setup, and new strings. Most of all, it needs an owner who is going to give it the playing time it deserves!

I'm looking for $1500 plus actual shipping cost. Includes original case in decent shape. Email me -- adamalembic[at]yahoo.com -- or post here with any questions. More pics available upon request.

Gave the fingerboard a much-needed cleaning and lemon oil treatment today. Looks (and smells) much better!

Price drop to $1350.

I'm open to all offers before tucking this bass back into the closet.

With a little attention to the jack connection, this would make a solid 'beater' for those bar gigs that are too dangerous for a SI/SII...

Looks like this bass is heading to its new home in Texas.

I think all bars gigs are almost too dangerous for a Serise bass these days!
