I'm looking for a new set of CX-3 Alembic short scale strings to put on my SCSD. [Mica, do you guys take PayPal for a set? If so, let me know and I'll get you my payment info. I can't seem to get the Yahoo shopping link to work from the "Accessories" section of the Alembic main page. Do you have them currently in stock?] BTW, I checked the websites of planetbass, basscentral and juststrings (and did an ebay search), but didn't see the CX-3 short scale set...if anyone knows where I can find a set, let me know. Thanks in advance, Will |

Thanks for your help, Pierre. Unfortunately, rocketmusic website says "out of stock" and the ellisguitars site is shipping from Australia (I'm in the US...). If my search winds up being fruitless, I'll check out your other string suggestion, though. Will |

DR HI-BEAM (SMR-45) Is my choice. When I was in the market for some Short Scale strings 5 yrs ago I asked Evan, The owner of Bass northwest where I got my Alembic. Evan recommended The DR Short Scale Hi-Beams. The SMR-45 lasts a very long time and do not injure the frets!. I purchase them at Juststrings too! Good luck in your quest for short scale strings! May the low frequencies be with you!! |

Pierre-Yves, you must be thinking of the recent Short Scale Strings thread under Alembic Basses and Guitars. (Message edited by adriaan on November 12, 2012) |

Update: I found a dealer that has an unadvertised hidden stash (not a great sentence to be taken out of context...). It's going to be a zingy, sparkly holiday season after all! |
