Saw that last night. Wish I didn't, it's like $6K. I want one sooooo bad; I have heard of reissue lefties but never seen one.

Those pickups don't do anything for me at all ! WAY over priced .
The Guild /Hagstrom pickups are the ones for a " Stock Starfire"
Or DarK Stars_______
For that much cash wait for a SERIES II Alembic . You will be glad you did ___ (in my opinion)

I agree completely Wolf. If it was more in my price range it would have had a set of Dark Stars in it just as fast as I could find a pair (or one of the others from Talkbass). I want an Alembic too, but a used non-long scale lefty is not easy to get either. I'll just keep waiting for both I guess. :-)

I agree, it's quite pricey. But still, this is a lefty. You guys with faulty head wiring can bask in vintage instruments all the time. Where as us with all of our connections installed correctly have to sit on the fence hoping one of these guys comes along. ;)
I wouldn't think twice about getting my claws on this and vamping it up as per regulations if I already didn't have my wall full of basses..
Or maybe just keep it original, that also has it's charm.!
It looks in really good shape.!

That is part of my problem with this bass. I would want to add a proper set of Bi-Sonic sound-a-likes and maybe some other Jack-esque mods, and a 'vintage' $6K bass doesn't seem like to ideal platform for me. I would feel bad cutting into a bass that has made it all this way unscathed; a road-worn reissue is a different story.
