I'm trying to find some Series pickups that are of the early smaller variety. I have a nice set of caramel colored pickups, but they buzz pretty badly, which apparently the very early ones did (probably the reason they're not in their original bass anymore). I've gotten pretty good with turning them off between songs, but I'd love to find some that are just not as noisy. The newer larger pickups won't fit in my bass, so I'm not really interested in them. |

Hi Edwin, I'll get second in line for this! The "new", big pickups wouldn't work on my Starfire which has very narrow string spacing. Do you happen to know if Alembic will make smaller pickups? I asked Mica about it in an email, but I guess that's not the best way to get info :-) |

Maybe we could band together and see if she'd do a run of two sets. It might make things move a bit quicker. I think you've seen pictures of my current pickups. I'd like to get that size because it cost me a considerable amount to get them mounted and a different size would effectively throw all that money and effort away. Let me know and if you are in and if so, I could if I order them. I'm pretty sure they have just about every pickup dimension they've made on file. |

You guy's are going to have to wait! At least till I get my set. On the plus side my p-ups might work for you. I believe the hum canceling coil will be in the p-up. Xtra bonus I hope Mica reads this :-) Nick |

Hey Edwin! I'll band together on this if it helps! I'll be visiting the mothership on Jan. 2 and can ask Mica about it then if we've heard nothing by then. |

I've got two of the tan/creme single coils, only one works, but I don't know if it would have the 60 cycle hum you were trying to eliminate. They were the ones I used to have on my Starfire in the 70's Phil pla@email.arizona.edu |

From what I understand all 3 need to be replaced at the same time. They are all painstakingly balanced # of windings, wire thickness and compensation due to the winding process to work together. The old middle Humcanceller becomes obsolete due to this process. A little West Coast birdie enlightened me to this last night. ~Pete |
