Alembic is building my custom 5-string with Series-II electronics. For larger gigs, I'll be building a rack that will contain the DS-5R which will hold the DS-5R power supply. However, for smaller gigs I'll use a combo amp, so I'd like to get a used DS-5. Mica says theyt non longer build the heavy duty DS-5, so I'm looking for a used one. Can you help me locate an old DS-5 power supply (with the heavy duty casing)? Also, I'd be pleased to get some advice on what such a unit in good working order would be worth. TIA, DrB -- alias Michael Ray

I have a DS-5 (somewhere in my house) that came with my 1981 Series I. It is in mint condition. I would be willing to sell it, due to the fact that I have a DS-5R which I exclusively use in my rack set up. I have no idea what a fair price for a mint condition DS-5R is. |

I also have a DS5 it is older with plain silkscreened lettering, blue-grey housing with black faceplate. It is from a Jimmy Johnson type 5 string. Since my 8 Alembics don't need a power supply it can go cheap if you don't buy DL's. |

Donn and Daniel, Sincere thanks for rapid response. As soon as I can determine a fair price for a DS-5 in good condition I'll contact you.
