Very nice bass. I love the look of Koa. Some additional pics would help. Good luck in your sale

Thanks Bill! Now I look at it again, I don't think it has a Koa back at all. It looks like two pieces. Koa top and Walnut back? I'm so not a wood expert.Koa

That looks so much better. Thanks for the help Bill. No extra charge for the bug, lol. I love this bass and if it doesn't sell, I'll be happy to keep it. For the two projects I'm doing now, it's just not my number one 4 string fretted. If it goes, I'm sure I will regret it in the future. The 4 string fretless series 1 I got from Dave, will be with me til death do us part!

Looks like a mahogany body with a koa top to me. Also looks like a really nice instrument to me (gee, someone on the Alembic Club thinks an Alembic looks like a nice instrument - imagine that!).

A yea, I hate to do this but I'm
going to have to pull this bass and not sell it. There were many people interested in this bass and I appreciate that. It has become one of my basses that is just worth more to me than the market could pay.I had some nice trade offers as well but in the end, this bass is just flat out better than most of them around the same value. As I was playing it and getting re-aquainted with it, I fell in love all over again. I just don't currently use it that much but that does not mean that I won't some time in the future. Sorry for the false alarm. Have a great New Year!

I can't say I blame you. I to have a Distillate as well as a Series 1. Even though the Series is slowly becoming my main go to Bass, the Distillate is just so reliable and easy to dial in and not to mention sounding so Dam Good! That I always find myself playing her at least once a day. Each Bass is so unique and Beautiful that unless some emergency happens I will never sell any of them. I’m in the process of (New Year’s Resolution?) figuring out a cool rotation so all my Ladies will not feel neglected.

Well I can not blame you either! Nice Bass. I was interested ! Like I wrote in my posting 2742 above, " It is a pity that you are not closer to me". Chances are that if you were closer ( like 1 days driving distance or less) ,that nice Distillate would be mine at this time !

Enjoy her , and congratulations on the rekindled love affair ______

Yea I'm guilty of backing out of a sale too. You're not alone ha ha! if my kids need something or health or something major came up. I'd have to sell a bass or more on the cheap but thank God it hasn't happened and I hope it never does. I love these basses! Enjoy that bad mama Jama all over again!

Thanks guys, you made me feel a little less guilty. It just sounded so good hooked up to my Genz Benz Streamliner 900 running through a boogie 215 cab. This bass is so versatile and awesome I said to myself what the hell am I doing? Thanks for the retraction added to the title.
Cheers.
