I am looking to trade or sell my Left Handed Mark King 5 String for a Left Hand Alembic 4 String preferably another Mark King, Brown Bass, Series I or II. The sell price is $4700 plus shipping.
I have been a 4 string player for a long time and I just can't get used to the 5 string so I want to get a 4 string Alembic if anyone has one they are looking to move. The Serial number is 00MJ12418 so it's a 2000 model year, has 5P maple neck, Koa top, and purple heart accent stripe. Very Beautiful (see Pictures). It's in excellent condition. Let me know what you have and maybe we can make a deal or if you're interested in purchasing it. Thanks!

Yes there is! Man, I wish this would come on sale in one years time instead. :-(
Just don't have the money readily available right now.
I would offer you an Alembicified six-string as part payment but that wouldn't do you any good going over to 4 strings.

Thanks for the thoughts count. It's good to know lefties are out there and they like Alembics! I hope some will come forward and make a deal..had a few prospects so far but nothing solid.

Bandcentral, there is a lefty out there who might consider trading a 4 string MK for a 5 string...but I'm in the UK (In London)!

My MK is a little older (95)and in really good condition. I've owned it for at least 15 years and can count for it being looked after really well...including having it serviced at the Bass Gallery (where it had novelty value!) You can see a not very good picture of it on the Club site at history requests on May 6 2012.

I own another 5 string Epic which is not for sale...but I have the 5 string habit! My main concern in shipping an Alembic across the Pond....presumably you are in the US?

I wondered whether any other Club members had any advice on the practicalities?

Hello Piers, Thanks for your email. I looked at the picture link you provided and I see your bass is very nice. Best of all it's a 4-string and it's a Mark King! I'm very interested in your bass and would like to see a few more pictures of it if possible. I agree with you about shipping across the "pond" and the logistics involved. I am located in the states (Mississippi). I'm sure it's not a real issue and is done often, but possibly one of the other club members has had experience with it and will share it with us. My home email is bandcentral@cableone.net and my name is Terry Powers. Thanks again for your email and I look forward to more pictures. Take care, Terry
