ARRRGH! Some people have no respect!
These are the guts of my ex-'85 Spoiler, paraded for all the world to see! My very first Alembic!

It's my own fault, selling off the bass like that...Bsee or anyone else playing a Spoiler 4, these pickups are GREAT (personal experience over many years), not to mention if someone here buys them I might wrangle the seller's address and have my Yakuza friends dump fish guts on their lawn for parting out and adulterating a fantastic bass.

I feel your pain! I just can't understand why anyone would pull the guts out of any Alembic. It's like tearing the heart out!
If it makes you feel any better I know of an even worse horror story. I hope your sitting down. I know of a local player (SLC,UT.) who removed the guts of his Series 1 and then ..are you ready?,routed out the body to install a PRECISION pickup!!!! It makes me sick at heart to even think of it. Ah well ,pearls before swine or something like that.

Before the underworld wipes these people out, let's get the address of this person, for obvious reasons!

Those aren't Spoiler guts in the auction you referenced, they are Activators. Plus, there's no Q switch on the filter and where's the volume control?

The pickups look to be of different ages, but that may just be the photo. And why do people cut off connectors?

Mica is right, there is no Q switch in the picture. What the seller is refering to as the Q switch, he describes as a "parametric sweep"; so it sounds like he is refering to the filter. The seller only states that the pickups were from a Spoiler, he states that he ordered the filter direct from Alembic.

Mica, that's what my bass had. The previous owner had replaced the original harness with a homemade bass-treble-volume preamp and on/off switch that I swapped out for Activator guts picked up at a yard sale before I bought the bass.
Hey, I was a college student.
There's no mistaking the greenish tinge of that bridge pup; the leads had been clipped before I bought it. I'm sure you don't remember this, but you and I corresponded about six years ago about fixing the issues that harness had.
Drat and double-drat, the foolishness of youth! Let my suffering, well, vague discomfort, be a lesson to all!
