If anyone is upgrading their electronics, or if there are cosmetic blems available at the Alembic shop, then I would like get in on the action. I have a Spector NS-4 with EMG-HZ35DC. They are about 1.5"x3.5". So I think I would have to get the Fat Boy size housings. I have an Alembic dealer/ luthier line up for the extra routing. It is not likely that I will be able to afford a new activator set this month, and with price increases coming in January an activator set will probably not get onto my purchasing radar screen in the foreseeable future. So I am looking into any ther options available. There are only 3 control knobs on my bass, so I don't need anything too fancy. Thanks. |

Thanks, but I think I will have to stick with something simpler. My bass has the curved body and I don't think it would hold all of those electronics. Besides I could almost get a new activator set by the time I paid davehouk the $600 that he is hoping to get for his Series I set. I would probably have to get Essence or Europa electronics at the most. I have a fairly large control cavity and another compartment with 2 9v batteries. |

Mica has stated on this site in the past that from time to time "blem" Alembic activators are available at a reduced cost for those that are interested. Drop her a private email and see what she has. As far as the electronics you need to go along with them, unless you can get something used, you're at Alembics mercy RE: pricing. As you are undoubtably aware, not many things with the Alembic name on them are cheap, LOL! Good luck. Let us know how you make out. |
