Have a Series bass on order (SII electronics/no LEDs). It will come with a DS5-R. I'm looking for a DS5 mini power supply as I use an Acoustic Image Focus instead of a rack. Valentino told me they might offer DS5s in late 2005. I know the batteries are good for up to 40 hours and Series basses have a 1/4" mono output (both PUs on). Anyone want to sell an original DS5 mini power supply? Can anyone recommend a reputable electronics tech who could build one (I searched and it seems Mica has sent out schematics before)? Hi David, Thanks! I'm using old Community Light & Sound fiberglass cabs. Main one is a PBL which has a 15" woofer and a 1" compression driver on an exponential horn. Designed for use as side-fill monitors, the PBL is ok as a bass or keyboard speaker: The exponential horn does not disperse well to the sides (in view of this they later offered a version with a radial horn). It's very flat sounding and indestructible. However it's not light (47 lbs W/O drivers). Also have an NC12 (12" + 1" on a mini-horn), which is ok for low volume use. I like very clean, flat cabs W/O coloration. Portability counts too. ;-) I plan to get an Acme 2x10 soon. | ||

Hi Darrell, I ordered the bass about three weeks ago, published lead times would indicate its completion in April '05. That date may be optimistic (based on the '05 price increase and past FTC threads), but having already waited 30 years it doesn't distress me. ;) Details will soon be in the Dreaming section (I'm soliciting opinions on strap locks and such). The DS5 mini-power supply would be helpful as it will fit in a case/gig bag. The DS5-R is a rack mount (19") unit. I use a very small, light amp (the <a href="http://www.acousticimg.com/products/prod_focus.html" target="_blank" style="text-decoration : none;">Acoustic Image Focus</a> is 4 lbs), similar to the Walter Woods. The DS5 is what you have in your picture, so you're familiar with it's portability. Want to trade for a rack version?  I imagine there will be a FTC thread for it sometime this spring and I'll post pics when I can. -dan | ||

Hi, Do you know Mark king's power supply for wireless ? Our club (unofficial fan club in Japan) member has the bass that used by Mark King. It is included his power supply. It is very simple, }18Volt supply and single output. The size is same as small stomp box. It's here. http://www8.plala.or.jp/alembic/column5.html I made the copy with additional spec.(Master Vol. and Stereo-Mono SW with 2 output) It's working fine! I recommend it for the sound than }9Volt and for the portability than DS-5. This is my power supply. (sorry for out focus)  | ||

Hi Eiji, Wow that's too cool!!! I had read that Mark and Stanley both had battery packs made for use with wireless systems. Never saw pictures of them though. Thanks! Your adaptation is really neat! While I don't understand Japanese the pictures on the fan club site and the "Alembic Maintenance" page (linked above) are very helpful. Again, thanks! -dan | ||

Dan, if you go to Google, and click on "language tools", they have a trans-literation tool which will "translate" webpages from one language to another.
