I bought this bass sometime on the early 80's. Can't really remember the exact date, but it was at Guitar Center in San Francisco.

It's a great bass and needs to be played. Honestly, I haven't played in about 25 years. A great instrument needs someone to make it sing. It's only fair to the instrument and the craftsman that put their heart and soul into it.

Solid koa wood body with maple and walnut veneers, maple neck, ebony fingerboard, and the tuners are chrome Schallers. Serial number is 82S2366. The case is not original, but is works.

I live in the San Francisco Bay Area and willing to ship to you. Or if near by, you can pick it up.

Asking $2300 plus shipping costs. Of course, that's my asking price. Pictures are available. For some reason they keep getting rejected as exceeding size.

I had to go back and look at your basses again, fc_spoiler. I think I still like the black one best..not just because of Cliff. That finish is killer.

Other than mine, this one and a few others I haven't seen many others. Are they not common?

I think Mica said there were less than 100 made with a solid Koa Boy. (the first +/- 100)
Mine has serial # 83S2674, there's a '83 Spoiler on eBay with serial # 83S2839 that has a Mahogany body + top.
The first Spoiler in my list has serial number 82S2194

So I'm guessing $2300 is a fair price? And how do you calculate shipping?

Interesting....I posted a response to you jshull last night. It appeared for a couple of minutes...and then was gone!

I'll send the bass by whatever shipping method you would like. I once checked with UPS and ground to most places in the US was under $100 plus insurance. I am negotiable, so if it's higher than that I can make an accommodation.

I am very interested in the bass. I am in Australia but my in-laws live in San Jose. They are making their way over here so I will need to ask if they could add the bass to their luggage. Drop me an email if you would. It is in my profile.

Slawie had to drop out for economic reasons. So....

This Spoiler is still up for grabs.

Bump to the top for some consideration.

Any interest? I can be flexible on the pricing.

It needs to be played, and I can use the cash. Just being honest........

I still have this one and need to sell it.

I'd rather sell it to someone on here who can appreciate it before putting it up on eBay for the "unwashed masses."

I know it's a long shot, as this is an older thread, but did you ever sell this bass?
