Hey everyone, I've been looking for a good way to bring my SF-2 to gigs since I use a Mesa combo and no racks. I saw a guy with a bag style 1-space rack that was shallow - just the perfect size for an SF-2. He told me where he got it, but when I called the store they said they didn't have anymore and didn't know where they got it since it was a while ago. Since then I've been scouring the internet with no success. The I hit myself in the forehead and thought "duh? I should ask the denizens of Alembicland!" So does anyone have any leads or ideas about cases for an SF-2? Any input wil be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Bill, tgo

Warwick make a 2U shallow (12.6") rack bag. Cat. no RB24210B

There's one here: http://www.deremate.com.ar/accdb/ViewItem.asp?IDI=7041412&IDCamino=926

David, thanks for the suggestion, but what I'm looking for is about half the depth of a standard rack, so as to fit the SF-2, rather than have to lug around a case with the back half (behind the SF-2) empty. And one rack. Is such a beast out there somewhere? I want it! It wants me! Help, Mr. Wizard! (Drizzle drazzle drozzle drome ...) (Name that cartoon reference and win absolutely nothing!)

Looks like Gator makes soft racks. Here is one.

Dave:

That too is a two-space full size rack. An awful lot of space to take up just for one SF-2. I have faith that somewhere out there is a single space SF-2 size rack/bag.

Looks like Furman makes 12" deep rack bags. Check out http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=23789&item=7305969216&rd=1. It's a five space, but I suspect they make other sizes.

Yea, the "pimp filter" is cool, but probably not the most practical for playing out. Somewhere I know it must exist - the one space 6" deep rack/bag.

So, nobody remembers "Help, Mr. Wizard"? Hint: it was said by a cartoon turtle. Poor Nigel - where are you? You of all people should know this!

Check out the following URL: http://www.moderncase.com/rk-rb.htm.

They make a single space 8 inch bag. Use the extra 2 inches to store your cords!

Doc:

Thanks. You da man! I'll call them from work today. I knew someone is this club would lead me in the right direction. I'll let you all know how it goes - I'm sure there are others that could use a rack/bag for their SF-2s.

Does the "Modern Case" company really exist? Has anybody here dealt with them before? I've called them twice and left messages, so far no call back.

Bob:

You are correct sir! Tooter (or Tutor, I've seen both on the net) the Turtle - a vague recollection from my youth. "Help Mr. Wizard" has been lurking in the back of my brain for almost 45 years!

Well I finally got in touch with the Modern Case company. They rudely informed me that they are wholesale only and could not refer me to any distributor in the S.F. Bay Area.

So the search continues - somewhere out there is an appropriate rack/bag/case/whatever for an SF-2. But where? All leads and ideas still appreciated.
