I'm curious what my Starfire would sound like with newer Series pickups, but these are a different shape. And pricey. |

Edwin, that's an interesting question. Do newer and older Series Pickups sound different? I have a 75 Series although they sound fine they have some visual wear and warpage. Thank you Pete |

I would imagine they sound a little different. Mine are trapezoidal on the inside (with rectangular shells) and also have a resistance of about 750 ohms (not a typo, less than 1k), whereas the more current ones have a higher resistance and a more standard magnet and bobbin shape. I'm guessing mine are from ca. 1973 or so. They sound great, but are susceptible to directional noise. |
