Alembic 5 String Orion Bass in new condition, This bass was Purchased from an Authorized Alembic Dealer in Nov. of 2002. It was purchased as an investment instrument, wrapped in plastic and stowed in the closet for the last 10 years. It is in new condition with no wear, dings, dents or surface imperfections. All factory documentation is included. The factory check sheet says the unit has a quilted maple top, ebony fret board, purple heart accents, maple body with walnut stringers, and the standard Orion electronics with gold hardware. Don't know what the street price is today but in 2004 a new Orion 5 with upgraded electronics (Essence) was $2350 from a couple of dealers. I would put a used one today with a nice but common top somewhere around $1.5 k - $2.1k. This one is definitely priced too high. Keith |

I just quoted the ad Mike. I'm guessing someone bought this Orion as an investment thinking if they held it long enough it would increase in value & they could sell it & make money off of it. I thought the fact that it is essentially a brand new instrument that was sealed in plastic & never played might appeal to someone. |
