Don't know what the street price is today but in 2004 a new Orion 5 with upgraded electronics (Essence) was $2350 from a couple of dealers. I would put a used one today with a nice but common top somewhere around $1.5 k - $2.1k. This one is definitely priced too high.

I just quoted the ad Mike. I'm guessing someone bought this Orion as an investment thinking if they held it long enough it would increase in value & they could sell it & make money off of it. I thought the fact that it is essentially a brand new instrument that was sealed in plastic & never played might appeal to someone.
