While I was at it I would just go ahead and instal the bridge with the brass block. Then after all of that you could always do a proper paint job if the wood work does not look appealing . They did that with my old Series I (78-1180) when I had them cut an omega to replace the point. They had to fill in the battery compartment and did it with a beautiful piece of ebony.
