Expensive, but they are willing to take offers.

I made an offer.
I guess I could get it sent to the factory for a grease and oil change plus a transformer/voltage upgrade.
I have been waiting too long for one and I could not help myself.

It ended up being sold for best offer
It was not me who bought it
I imagine a number of folks here were watching
Did anyone here pick it up?

For $1500, it might be worth the grab. Who knows when Alembic will be making these again.

Sorry for the late reply folks , I was really busy ___
When this IN-2 was listed the first time on eBay I had contacted the seller with an inquiry for disclosure as to what testing that he had done. I had mentioned to him that I have refurbished an IN-2 including the rebuilding of the power section.

See my POST # 2856 http://alembic.com/club/messages/395/156253.html?1365400212

I provided the seller with a description and help with information before the first time that this re-list of the IN-2 showed up on eBay . After the re-listing we had a conversation that ended up with me as the new guardian of this unit that I accepted as is with no returns and no implied guarantee or warranty. There is no doubt in my mind that this unit will require testing and possible service before I would connect a Series instrument to it. Just to be safe :-)

The nice aspect of this particular IN-2 is that it appears to be in considerably much better cosmetic condition than the first one that I had refurbished, that one looked really rough .

This one is just as pretty as a bowl of striped candy !

Wolf,
Somehow I suspected you would have wound up with it. :-)
In your hands this unit will not potentially cause grief to any unsuspecting Series out there and in fact be restored!
Congrats,
Pete

Hello Pete,
I hope that all is well with you . Yes, I intend to go through it and IF and when I ever sell it I will be able to do so knowing that I played through my self with my own highly loved Series instrument.

Slawie, Thanks ___ I was really waiting for you to scoop this critter!

Then it seemed to linger on eBay ___ and after the conversation with the seller who is a nice guy , who had sincere concerns regarding its functional safety, and possibility of complications due to its age ,SO ____ I ended up with it. I also did not want any nefarious entity that copies Alembic products to get their hands on it and replicate it for monitary gain before Alembic Inc. even gets a chance to release the NEW IN-2 ! Thus ; I sent out my Raven to fetch it ___LOL ,

Actually it is even still in transit __!
The pic above is from the seller .

Wolf,

I did make an offer early in the piece but that was not accepted. I was going to place a second offer but was foiled by my own stupidity by not checking frequently enough. I thought that it been sold as the listing suddenly disappeared from view.

I was imagining that any offer I would make was not going to be near the mark because the asking price was so high. Oh well live and learn.

I am having my series I electronically reworked at the factory soon so I might as well have my budget go toward the instrument and wait for the new IN-2's to be released by Alembic Inc.

Congratulations on your "Unicorn Breath" acquisition.

I imagine that you will be doing the electronic and functional validation yourself and maybe not sending it back to the Mother-ship.

If it is at the factory when I'm there in July the scene may be something like this;

Replace the guitar for an IN-2

Hello Jonathan,
We jammed at a Northern California Alembic gathering a while ago. The short answer is essentially; A power supply. ___Passive DI, ___Mult box , patch switching & Mode switch, signal router for Series Alembic instruments . The signal routing and DI features can be utilized with any other instrument including ones with passive design.

The Alembic Description is better then mine :

I hope the interest shown by club members on this eBay unit help demonstrate the value in a new production run of the IN-2.
Jon
