It has a lot of checking and the finish is flaking in places but If you could get that at a keen price, a refurb would do wonders. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Alembic-Series-1-6-String-Guitar-w-DS5-Power-Supply-55-HD-Images-Vintage-18V-/151346191130?pt=Guitar&hash=item233cef9b1a

I was checking that one out last night. Cool guitar, but it is pretty banged up for the price they're asking. I have nothing against a "well-loved" guitar, but their price is a bit steep for an axe in that condition. Hopefully, someone can get a better deal on it and play the heck out of it! |

It's certainly a high(er) asking price, but not bad compared to others I've seen. The '80 small body guitar at Rudy's in NYC which was priced at $10,999 last I checked, also had a good degree of checking. As is stated in the subject, it is a very lovely guitar! I'm always tempted by those small bodies, the "standard point" is just a beast weight wise for me. |

If all things are equal and everything on this guitar works as it should. What would it cost to have it refurbished? Guessing here but if my memory serves me correctly (LOL) I vaguely reading that Alembic does this refurb jobs. ~$1000 $1500? So 4k for the guitar plus let's say 1500 ~ $5500 for a Series. Perhaps getting a better price from the seller? It's a pretty girl and it would nice to see what she would look like, if, if, if. Pete |
