I'm selling my 1999 Alembic Essence 4 String Bass, with the original hardshell case. $1,500.00 USD Buyer Pays Shipping. This is an absolutely beautiful work of art. Bubinga top and Walnut neck instrument with an Ebony fretboard. I had this Bass custom wired from Alembic with Europa Active Electronics when it was built back in '99. I am the original owner, and it has NEVER left my sight. It is in excellent condition, and has a very comfortable fast neck, kick butt bottom end and plenty of mid range punch, with sweet warm highs up the neck. It will do anything that you want it to do, except speak the English language. If anyone is seriously interested in it. I will email pictures and specifics to you personally via email. You can contact me on this site or preferably at =

Greg,
As they say a 1 picture can say a thousand words. She sounds like she's beautiful and with Europa Electronics the price sounds more than fair. We are a quirky bunch here and love pictures. It could be just the thing to push this sale through. I own a Distillate and very happy with it so this type of Bass is covered for me. But you never know? Let the cat out of the bag you may be surprised. Let's see this baby.

I need to apologize for a typing error that I made on this post. The Neck on my Alembic is Maple. The Body material is Walnut, and the top IS of course Bubinga. Again, I am truly sorry for the mistake. I tried again to upload pictures but the file size of each picture is too large. Please email me, and I would be more than happy to email pictures to any of you. This is an extremely beautiful Bass, in excellent condition. I have had several people contact me about it in the past few days, and I have emailed pics and information to them with no problems. It is still here at home, and still for sale.

Thanks for understanding,

Greg Edwards

Greg,
There are a few guys here that are usually more than happy to help in these kinds of picture fitting issues. Give it a little time I'm sure someone will chime in to assist. This club if nothing else is an honestly earned helpful group of people. I would love to help but I struggle at best in my attempts.
Also there is this crazy Alchemist, well that's for another time.

Best wishes,
Pete

Thanks so much Pete. I just emailed several pics to echo008 a few minutes ago, and saw another post of another gentleman with the same "too large file" issue. I think one of the moderators by the name of Art helped re-size his for him, so that he could post them on the classifieds here. I sent Art an email, hopefully he can help do that for the pictures of this Bass. I bought it quite a few years ago, but I have really taken good care of it. My health isn't good nowadays, and I need to use the money from the sale of it for house repairs, so it isn't a rash decision at all. Thanks to all of you for your interest, and until I can get some pictures posted, please keep emailing me, and as I said, I will be more than happy to email them to you personally.

Thanks again,
Greg

That is a great price for a neck-through with Europa electronics. It looks to be a maple neck with walnut laminates, bubinga top, maple pinstripe and mahogany body.

Greg,
That's beautiful! If I didn't have this end of my Bass needs covered by my Distillate. I would be all over this. Tempting, Tempting, Tempting! I'm so sad you feel a need to sell her, truly hope for a change of fortunes to come your way.
Peace,
Pete

You are correct Keith. I started playing Bass in 1968 on a Sears Silver Tone 4 String :-O That was fun?? Then saved up enough to buy an old '65 pre CBS Jazz Bass (I was in love);-) Later, I found a NICE old 1960 pre CBS Jazz and loved it even more. As much as I loved the old Fenders, they had a BAD habit of the neck "moving" out of adjustment. Especially, when the weather temps would change. It sounds stupid, but, I have seen the times when I could actually "feel" the action changing in my left hand during the first set in certain clubs, with the "heat" of 1,000 watt pars staring down on top of us. Something had to give, so in '99 I bit the bullet, and bought this wonderful piece of art. I told Mica (she probably doesn't remember now) That I wanted a 4 String about the same body size of a Jazz, with a slim fast neck, low action, twin pickups, and a built in preamp that I could kick the "volume freak guitar players" butt's with. I picked the wood, they built it, and this is it. WOW!! The neck is ROCK SOLID, it plays like nothing else that I have ever played in my 58 year old life. I'm telling you guys, she's a player. I replied to Tom, that I became disabled in 2008. These issues stopped me, and haven't played "live" for 5 years or so because of spinal issues. I need the money to repair my house, more than I need the Bass. I just hope someone will get it and love it. It is absolutely One-Of-A Kind, I have never seen another one like it. Let me know if anyone wants it, several people have shown interest and they all love it. This is a great deal for a Bass Player, or a collector. It would cost A LOT more money to have the good folks at Alembic to build a new one like it.

Thanks for all of the kind help guys.
