So I recently acquired an incredible '86 Distillate from our friend HAMMER and have had some time to get acquainted with the "pros and cons". The craftsmanship and tones are incredible. But nothing can beat my Ric 4003S for feel and balance. So I've weighed some options - put Activators in the Ric? Buy a SF-2? Try a different Alembic? If I go with the last choice, I think a Rogue may be THE one. As much as I like the "traditional" Alembic look, I can be very picky about pickup placement and physical balance, and I think the Rogue may address these issues nicely. Copying and pasting from my earlier post with my "requirements" - Must have: 4 strings Mahogany body Fingerboard inlays Must NOT have: Inline headstock P and/or J pickups Maple or Zebrawood top (negotiable!) Let me know what you've got, thanks! |
