Hello everyone,,with much sadness Im listing my Alembic for sale, here she is..

1976 Series 1 Alembic 4 string bass. 34" scale. 24 fret
Birds eye Maple top and back.
Mahogany core
Purpleheart stripes/Maple neck
Macassar Ebony fretboard
Mahogany headstock veneer
4 position pick up selector Mute, Bridge, Bridge & Neck, Neck.

Bass plays and sounds great and functions as it should.

trying to figure out how to post pics here,,in the meantime many pics at:

and more shots of the case and some shots w/ flash:

Neck is straight. Truss rod works fine.

Pickups are original. Preamp electronics are original. 2 Vol, 2 Tone, 2 three way Q toggles.

Comes with original hard shell case. Functions fine with usual 30+year wear.

Also comes with original grey pin cable and Alembic preamp power supply box. Both function fine. The writing on the power supply box is worn off but you can still make out what it says.

Minor changes its gone thru for the better..July 2014 it was refretted and plekd by luthier Phil Jacoby at Philtone in Baltimore.

Action and playability is great. Limited playing and no real fret wear at all since. One of the battery connectors was also replaced at this time as well.

Also has new input jack installed which I got direct from Alembic. Its wired for mono. Both 1/4" jack w 2-9volts and powered pin cable connector preamp setup work fine.

Missing 1 brass screw on the small battery compartment,,,which Im sure could be found at a local hardware shop.

Cosmetically its in very nice shape given its age and amount its been played. No major scrapes or flaws. there are the typical swirl marks and light surface scuffs from normal wear. I couldnt get them to show up in any pics with my camera phone.

There is one small ding ( 3/16") on the back of the neck. It is only finish deep and is hard to feel. Please see pic

There is also very minor chips just in the top finish in areas on the side/edge of the fret board. They are hard to see and feel. I will try to get some pics posted shortly of it.

$5500. Sorry No Trades please.
Ships to ConUS only. It will be well packed and fully insured.
If interested or need more pics please contact.
thanks
