UPDATE: I just e-mailed the seller, the E-bay e-mail system kept giving me an error when I tried to go through the auction. I looked up his contact information and e-mailed him directly. This should be interesting. I'll keep you all posted! Tony |

I'm stunned! I can't believe they acted on it so fast! I even placed a call to Southern Guitars, it really looked like their account was hi-jacked. Half of their auctions stated who they were and where they were located with phone number and all. The others, including this bass, had a DIFFERENT e-mail address than the other auctions. Not to mention, when you cheched the "REVISED" option, you can see that someone changed EVERYTHING including the contact information. Glad E-bay actually did something this time! |

They had better start clamping down on this stuff or they'll be taking hits in the press pretty soon. Very bad for their business. It's just surprising they've taken so long to get on this. |

HEY! I got a response from the "SELLER"! Check this out....This bass sure gets around "Hello and sory for the delay, I received your email regarding my ALEMBIC Series II Custom 5 String Bass Guitar Coco Bolo. First you have to know bidding is restricted since I am carefully with my auction,so none will press the button until I have the assurance that he will buy it. The guitar is in perfect condition. The price with shipping included, is $2800.00 US. Shipping will be done with UPS and will take no more then 2-3 days. All the original documents are in English. The product is in Prague,Czech Republic and it will be shipped from here on my expense. Please REPLY WITH YOUR NAME AND SHIPPING ADDRESS IN YOUR NEXT EMAIL. I will wait for your email to let me know if you are interested in knowing more details about the purchase. Thank you" I also heard from Southern Guitars, the REAL owner of the e-bay Id, and YES, it was a STOLEN ACCOUNT. Apparently, all is well and the scammer didn't get anyones money, THIS TIME.... Prague,Czech Republic ....amazing..... |

those of us who've been watching this drama unfold for a couple of months now, have now---thanks to the mythical "Roman Conqueror"---visited new jersey, miami, australia, athens and prague. we've circumnavigated the globe more than the space shuttle. it's kind of like a UFO. an Unidentified Flying Alembic. yeah, that's it. a UFA. |

they do, until you get there, then you better turn your lights out. you know what i mean if you've been there. you'll get a ticket. only romans think driving under dim pink lights is safe. you know, we colonists really are more intelligent. cultural darwinism. ethnocentrism. whatever. no offense to the supreme being, but we do rule the surface of the earth. however, alembic rules our minds! damn, i guess my degree in journalism finally paid off. i like that. mica? |

UFA, I LOVE IT! Can you believe the guy e-mailed me AGAIN today?!? He asked me if I was still interested! I told him that if he could mail it COD, I'd take it! I should start a UFA pool. Anyone want to take a guess where it MAY turn up next? IMHO, and it's only a theory....It could possibly be doing the salmon thing; the wood is trying to find its home to spawn! Tony |

btw, please don't interpret my comments to indicate i'm an "expansionist republican". right now, i'm full of the righteousness of what we did to hiroshima and nagasaki, despite what revisionist historians want to believe, given this past week's passing of the events. my now-deceased father-in-law participated in 3 successive invasions of south pacific islands and told me the horrors. i couldn't have done what he did, and i'm 6'1", 245 and played football at odessa permian, yes--"friday night lights", back in the early '70's when we were real and not hollywood. i'm a democrat. i hate war. my son is 16 and i didn't raise him to be killed although i deeply appreciate the sacrifice our troops are making for old fat guys like me. we do rule! |

this person, claiming to be the real owner of the roman conquerer sent me about 5 emails referring to a thread wherein i said something along the lines of "as if i were the real owner of the roman conquerer" and then proceeded to say things along the lines of "well, i AM the real owner" then he went off on a tangent about throwing a phone at me ala russell crowe. from that point it devolved into a series of messages, after i suggested i didn't know what the F... he was talking about that he doesn't "f..." w/people he talks to, he only "f...'s" w/his spouse. is that weird enough for all of you? his next message was even weirder. he says he's a forum member. i saved his email address. anyone want it? |

i'm kind of slow sometimes. maybe it's the blood sugar dropping. you know what just occurred to me? i'll bet this is the person posting the fake ads for the conqueror. i'll forward his emails and address to ebay and ask them to look into it. |

I think your right about him being related to the scam. It doesn't surprise me that he/she might be a little PO'ed at getting caught. Good luck with e-bay. Keith |

Hey Pat, hat's off to ya! Glad to see someone lobbing some poo his way. Good grief is this this guy a lump. I've sent a few K.M.A. love notes, still no response. He has got to be a tard from a land far away, that thinks this country is soft headed and here for the grazing. Yep, he is a real genius, great plan, worked rather well, brilliant ya toe typing Yak farmer. "One of these days Alice, bang, zoom, right to the moon". ( That one will drive him crazy) |
